The Blue Ribbon Foundation engaged Utility Creative to redevelop its primary website, Remember, and create a new e-commerce platform, CopShop. The project aimed to modernise the Foundation’s digital presence, better reflect its contemporary role, honour Victoria Police members who lost their lives in the line of duty, and support fundraising initiatives through merchandise sales, including the iconic Constable T. Bear.
The project involved managing two interconnected websites with distinct objectives: a content-rich memorial and information platform, and a fully functional online store. The Remember website contained extensive and sensitive content requiring careful handling, while the CopShop platform needed to deliver a seamless purchasing experience to support fundraising efforts. Mid-project changes to wireframes and evolving stakeholder requirements added complexity, requiring close collaboration and agile project management to maintain momentum and deliver quality outcomes.
Utility Creative commenced work in January 2017, working closely with the Foundation through regular consultation, planning, and review sessions. The team redesigned the information architecture and user experience of Remember to improve accessibility and navigation, while developing CopShop as a dedicated e-commerce platform integrated with the Foundation’s fundraising activities. Extensive user testing and focus group feedback informed refinements across both websites, ensuring usability issues were resolved before launch. Utility Creative also provided ongoing support and maintenance following deployment.
